Confined Space Entry and Rescue
Confined spaces have specific hazards pertinent to those working in a confined environment. Emergency response team are tasked with the responsibility of performing rescues during an emergency.
Juuldaam Services Limited offers a range of confined space courses, at all levels, from awareness, through to gas monitoring. The instructors have experience in confined space related activities and are trained to impart this expert knowledge based on internationally recognized standards.
Why Confined Space Entry Training?
Confined space entry is a hazardous activity and requires specialized training program and supervision to avoid incidents occurrences.
Confined space entry program, in most industries, goes along with confined space rescue training, working at height (WAH) training, Confined space attendants training, and general health safety and environment (HSE) training.
This course exposes the hazards involved in confined spaces such as entrapment, engulfment, dangerous atmospheric conditions and effective control measures for workers.
Course Curriculum (What will I learn)?
- Introduction to confined space entry
- Basic Terms for Confined Space.
- Understanding different types of confined spaces.
- The roles and responsibilities of the confined space entry team such as entrants, attendants, rescuers, supervisors, and managers.
- Principles of permit to work (PTW) system in confined space.
- Types of hazards such as atmospheric hazards, heat, entrapment, engulfment, chemicals exposure, and biological hazards etc
- Hazard control and management approach (use of breathing apparatus etc)
- Safe entry and exit from confined spaces.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the hazards associated with confined spaces including Toxic gases, Oxygen deficiency, entrapment hazards, engulfment hazards, excessive heat and other hazardous atmospheric conditions.
- Employ control measures to safely enter and exit a confined space. Such as the use of harness belt, obtaining a permit to work, having a dedicated attendant, taking regular breaks, and gas testing the atmosphere at regular intervals.
- Use & maintain different types of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Other confined space management equipment.
