GENERAL HSE
HSE training in Uyo. On completion of this course, students will receive a General HSE certificate of competence.
The course will equip participants with general safety (HSE) knowledge and certify them on baseline HSE competency.
Course Contents:
- Introduction and Principles of health and safety
- Employees and employers responsibilities in respect to HSE.
- Hazard identification and management process awareness.
- Risk assessment and management technique
- Understanding unsafe acts and unsafe conditions as the main causes of harm to workers (manual handling, hazardous substances, exposure to noise and vibration)
- Understanding the hierarchy of controls to eliminate or reduce hazards to acceptable level
- Public and government relations between companies and host communities.
- Workplace equipment, task design and effects on health, safety and environment
- Safety management systems awareness
- Drugs, alcohol and substance abuse in the workplace
- Introduction to occupational health and hygiene
- Principles of accident investigation and reporting.
- Understanding environmental issues and sustainable development
- Introduction to emergency first aid and CPR.
- Work management and permit to work (PTW) process awareness.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and use
- Security system awareness and programs
- Fire Prevention, Protection and Evacuation Procedure
